NÜGG LIP MASK REVIEW

Today, I'm going to review one of the new things I picked up from Target recently: nügg lip mask.

What is it?
Lip mask is essentially just like a wash off face mask for your lip. You leave it on for 15-20 mins and then tissue off the remains.

Price
I got mine from Target for $7.99.


The Claim
This highly nourishing mask is a delicious treat for your lips. Shea Butter & Coconut Oil help to hydrate and soften, while Licorice Root Complex helps to create the highly sought after plumping effect. 100% Natural, 100% Vegan and produced without petrochemicals, parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances and colors.

Packaging
The golden ball shape packaging is really cute and unique. The brand also recommended to use the empty case as a jewelry holder for rings or ear rings, which is a very nice feature.

Scent
This product has a light minty scent.

Texture
It feels like a heavy cream moisturizer.

Performance
My lips do feel more hydrated and softer after I use this product. I also saw a slight plumping effect, which is nice.However, the hydration effect does not last very long so I think this is more of an emergency or primer type of product instead of a lip treatment product.

SECRET KISS SWEET GLAM TINT GLOW VS. DIOR ADDICT LIPSTICK

I heard a lot of people said the secret kiss sweet glam tint glow is a dupe for the Dior addict lipstick. I happen to own both lipsticks so I decided to do a comparison between these two lipsticks and find out if they are a dupe or not. Please note that I'm not talking about color dupes but formula and product finish/texture dupes.

Packaging
One of the main reason people think these are dupes are because they have very similar packaging designs. Dior's has a magnetic closure and the packaging is heavier and feels much more premium than secret kiss' packaging. 

Price
I got my secret kiss sweet glam tint glow from seller beautynetkorea on eBay for $8.01.
Dior Addict lipstick retails for $35 in the US.


Scent
Secret Kiss: It doesn't has any scent.Dior: has a villainy sweet scent. It is not overpowering and you can barely smell it once it is on the lips.

Texture & Application

Secret Kiss: The lipstick goes on very smoothly and it has a very lightweight and almost gel-like texture. I almost feel like I'm not wearing anything on my lips.

Dior: It feels heavier than the secret kiss one and this one has a very buttery and balm like texture.

Finish

Both lipsticks have a glossy shine finish. The secret kiss one has a better color payoff than the Dior Addict lipstick and the Dior one is glossier.

Dior Addict Lipstick in 780 Bold

PerformanceBoth of them are very moisturizing but none of them are long lasting lipsticks. Both lipsticks last on the lips for about 4 hours. However, the secret kiss one will stain your lip, so even after the lipstick wore off, there will still be color on the lips, which I like a lot.

Are they dupes for each other? I would say: NO, they are not dupes for each other. I think they are two completely different formulas and the texture of the products are quiet different as well.

Which one do I like better?
I have to say I like the secret kiss sweet glam tint glow better since it last longer on the lips (because it stains the lips) and it feels very light weight!

EBAY ASIAN BEAUTY SELLER FACEDOWN

I love buying asian beauty products from eBay due to the wide product selections. However, buying asian beauty products on eBay can be tricky sometimes, since the products are priced very differently and there is also a risk of getting fake products.

I did a lot of research on trustworthy asian beauty product eBay sellers and picked 4 of them to place my orders. In order to test out their shipping speed, I placed all my orders on the same day. I live in southeastern US and this where all the items were shipped to.

Here is my comparisons and comments on all four of the eBay sellers:

Final Thoughts

• I like both beautynetkorea and biz-inside and will continually purchase from both of them. (see my haul from beautynetkorea here)
• Alphabeautyul is a good source to get Japanese products. However, I think the shipping cost is a little bit high. Still in the search of other Japanese beauty product sellers on eBay.
• I'm not impressed with cosmetic.love because their price seem to be slightly higher and shipping is not very fast. I will only purchase from them if I can't find the product from both beautynetkorea and biz-inside.

DAISO DETERGENT VS LIQUID BLENDERCLEANSER

Today I'm going to review the Daiso Detergent for Makeup Puff and Sponge and also compare it with Liquid Blendercleanser by Beauty Blender. I used 2 beauty blenders for 5 days each with similar products, so I can accurately test out both cleaners and find out which one works better.

Price

I got mine from eBay seller alphabeautyuk for $3.95 + $2.50 for shipping and you can get it from Amazon for around $7. It usually comes in 80 ml bottle, so in average, the price is about $0.08 per ml.

Scent

This product is fragrance free and has no scent at all.

Performance

Let's put it to the test! 

First, here are some before images of my dirty beauty blender. I used this beauty blender for five days, as you can see, there are many stains on it from my foundations and concealers. I used my Estee Lauder double wear foundation for one of the days and the stains from this foundation is usually really hard to get off.

I squeezed a dime size amount of the Daiso detergent on my dry beauty blender and then rubbed the detergent all over the sponge with a bit of water and then rinsed it thoroughly under running water.

Wow! It got rid of all the stains and my beauty blender looks like new! I was really impressed and extremely satisfied with its performance.

Liquid Blendercleanser by Beauty Blender

Price

It is $18 for a 5 oz (150 ml) bottle in Sephora. So it is about $0.12 per ml.

Scent

This cleanser has a light lavender scent which will linger on your beauty blender after the wash as well. Personally, even the scent does't bother me but I do prefer to not have any scent.

Performance

Here is the before image. The same as the beauty blender I used to test the Daiso cleanser, I used this one for 5 days with similar products (including the double wear foundation I mentioned before). 

I used this cleaner basically the same way as the Daiso cleaner and here are the after images:

As you can see, it got rid of some of the stains but there are still some tough stains left on the blender.

Conclusion

Clearly, the Daiso detergent works better than the beauty blender liquid cleaner and it is cheaper as well. I will totally recommend it for cleaning beauty blender. 
However, I didn't test it on makeup brushes so I don't know how it will preform with makeup brushes.

REVIEW + SWATCH: HOLIKA HOLIKA HEARTFUL MOISTURE LIPSTICK

Today I'm reviewing the heartful moisture lipstick from Holika Holika. I had this lipstick for quite a while now, so I thought it is time to share my thoughts on this. 

Packaging

Cute! To be honest, the packaging and the heart shape are basically the reasons I bought it at the first place. (I know, I know, I'm a sucker for cute things...) I especially like the metallic pink finish on the tube since it looks premium.

Scent

It has a very sweet, candy like scent and the scent lingers even after applied the lipstick to the lips. However, it is definitely not over powering and personally the scent doesn't bother me.

Size

The tube is skinnier and shorter than traditional lipsticks. However, the actual product amount is 0.13 oz, which is similar to a normal lipstick (Mac is 0.1 oz and Maybelline is 0.15 oz).

Texture & Application

The texture is very creamy and soft. It is not as slippery as a tinted lip balm but glides on smoothly. Surprisingly, The weird heart shape actually makes the application easier since the top of the heart works really well with the cupid's bow area.

Performance

The color payoff is very well and the color is definitely buildable. The lipstick is fairly long-lasting but it will dry out the lips a little bit (at least for me) after wore for couple hours.

Final Thoughts

This is not a Holy Grail kind of product for me since I have other lipsticks in my collection that I love more. However, I do enjoy having it in my collection since its performance is decent and the heart shape is very cute and unique. I will not get more colors from the line though.
